Applied Telecommunications' satellite system integration includes designing and building VSAT networks which allow multiple remote locations to communicate with a central hub facility. Satellite system integration may also be configured to allow remote locations to communicate with each other, independent of the hub station.

Remote stations are usually designed in a satellite system integration to use small antennas, lower power amplifiers, and field proven electronics. In order to minimize maintenance and down time, remote operators are taught the basics of system operation and troubleshooting.

Hub stations are designed to allow for future expansion as remote stations are added to the system. Redundant electronics, monitor and control systems, and back up electrical power systems are typical options selected by network operators.
